Kenya has a rich historical background which dates back to the stone and iron ages. Today's Kenya inhabitants are almost all immigrants whose ancestors reached the country around the first century A. D. The history of Kenya as a political entity begun whit the region's inclusion in the British sphere of influence in the late nineteenth century. Since independence the country has been engageg in the task of nation building. Eradication of disease, poverty and ignorance have continend to be the governments priority.
